TRAFFIC CONGESTION IN MANDALAY CITY

Abstract

Abstract Traffic congestion is a condition on road networks that occurs as the increases, and is a characterized by slower speeds, longer trip times and increased vehicles queuing. Traffic congestion is caused when a volume of traffic generated demand for space greater than the available road capacity. In Mandalay City, there are totally 28 numbers of traffic lights but some are not in properly working condition. Only about 10 are the busiest. To study the traffic congestion in Mandalay City, there are many indicators such as traffic intensity, traffic density and the speed of vehicles. Therefore, it is necessary to measure the incoming flow and outgoing flow of the vehicles which pass through the traffic lights.
